DIY Jewellery

The collaboration between Meerthe and Marrit originated from the combination of both expertise in wearable design with influence of the user and interest in mechanism and manufacturing technology. Both designers are inspired by the use of digital fabrication technologies, such as laser cutting and 3D printing, and how the techniques can be used to create items for daily life. How can these techniques - through an explorative process - lead to the creation of a product line? This was investigated during this collaboration; with a focus on jewellery.

The project led to the concept of DIY Jewellery. Different shapes in different materials were designed, which enables people to combine several parts into a unique piece of jewellery.
